Raising Up Women in the Spirit of Service

The Raise Up Conference, held on 29th September 2024 at The Fold in Royal Leamington Spa, was an inspiring gathering focused on personal growth, resilience, and community service. Hosted by the Leamington Spa Soroptimists, the event brought together over 80 women from diverse backgrounds, united in the spirit of empowerment and service.

The conference featured powerful talks and workshops led by notable speakers, including Hannah Simnett, Julie White, Dr. Mandy Barnett, and many others, who shared their experiences and offered actionable advice on overcoming challenges. Attendees also had the chance to connect through the innovative "Human Library," engaging with local and international organisations that support women and communities.

One of the conference's proudest achievements was raising £2,350 for 3 charities:

The Esther Project, which provides safe housing for women overcoming trauma; The Nirmala Foundation in Nepal, supporting education and empowerment for women and children; and The OurJay Foundation, which funds the installation of defibrillators in local communities.

As a direct result of this fundraising, a defibrillator will be installed in Leamington Spa, offering critical support to the area.
